"I highly recommend this book. Not only was it written very well, it is an inspiring and uplifting message to us all. What happened to Matthew only reaffirms to me what I've known for a while now; God is real, God is love, and God cares about all of us. Please take the time to read this true story, for it will warm your heart and help direct your path to God's truth."

"This was a heart warming story that was true. I just had to find out what was going to happen to the little boy so I kept turning the pages. I didn't learn anything because I already know where we go when we die, but I loved reading about this family and the tough time they went were going through. It was heart warming in the way the family all stuck together and supported each other through a tough time. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be uplifted."
In 2007, at the age of four and a half, Celeste and Billy Goodwin's son, Matthew, was facing a battle for his life. Life for the Goodwin family changed in an instant. The undiagnosed hypertension that Matthew had been suffering with for an undetermined amount of time reached a fever pitch following routine surgery to have his tonsils removed. Once admitted to the PICU of their local hospital, testing to determine the cause of Matthew's life threatening high blood pressure was underway. Test after test came up negative, inconclusive, or non-specific. Then, after nearly a month long hospitalization, and his return trip home, Matthew shared a revelation with his parents that would rock them to their core. Their faith had been tested so much in the previous month. But nothing could prepare them for the vision Matthew would share of his walk with the four angels who came to get him. Matthew battled on for his life and after countless hospitalizations, surgeries, and procedures he has come out a survivor and his story is changing the way people not only view pediatric healthcare, but shares a glimpse of the beauty of what we all imagine heaven to be like. Very few people have had the chance to walk at the edge of what awaits us and live to share it. Matthew is one of those fortunate few. In A Boy Back From Heaven, Celeste Goodwin shares the true life account of how her son's medical crisis and walk with four angels has impacted thousands in a positive way.
The Goodwin family made the personal decision to share Matthew's experience with one desire: to share the hope of faith and love with anyone that desires to understand the comfort and peace that comes from a relationship with our Lord.
Matthew is an active 16 year old junior in high school. He is an honor student who is involved in a number of religious, academic, civic, and volunteer organizations. He is a member of the Senior Beta Club, the Latin Club, FCA, Live Stream Club, his church youth group, and he is a very active volunteer with the NPBPAF. Matthew began taking college courses through the University of Alabama during his sophomore year and will have 17 college credits completed by the end of his junior year.
